About
Alyssa obtained her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Drake University in 2021. She has experience counseling in a variety of settings including non-profit organizations, state agencies, and private practices. Alyssa believes in the potential clients have to grow and change through the unique strengths they possess. By building on strengths and reframing weaknesses, clients can explore, discover, and grow in the truth of who they really are. Depending on a client’s needs and preferences, Alyssa uses techniques from Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Alyssa currently sees clients ages 14 and older and helps them navigate life stressors such as relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment issues, life transitions, and spiritual issues.
When she is not working, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, working out, and watching a good game of football or baseball.
