Aaron Culley, Director

Hello, my name is Aaron and I am the Director of Candeo Counseling Center! I have my Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and my Masters in Healthcare Administration from Des Moines University. I spent approximately 5 years in healthcare management before being called to open Candeo Counseling Center. I love to spend time with my family, vacation in Florida, ride my bike and watch a good movie. I have three children and an amazing wife that I have been married to since 2015.

When it comes to my approach regarding client interactions, my hope is that my clients feel like they can work through whatever issues/questions they are facing at a pace and in a way that they are comfortable with. My style is very conversational and laid-back. I like to spend much time getting to know my clients and then helping them go in the direction they want to go. If they are not sure what direction to go, then we start with that question! I use supplemental resources on an as-needed basis and when this occurs, the therapy session may feel more formal and directed. I find myself interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Scripture and Prayer. In accordance with ethical standards, scripture and prayer are used when a client desires this. My hope is for our clinicians at Candeo Counseling Center to be providing care to clients that they feel most closely aligns with their expertise and experience. In addition to that, I desire for our clients to feel like they are given a clear description and choice of clinicians they can see at Candeo Counseling Center. I think those two things combined create a positive outcome in the therapy process.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, we feel confident in our clinicians and are excited to provide this service to the Cedar Valley! Please take your time in getting to know our therapists and if you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
